Go with the Flow

This past week I had the delightful experience of being Visiting Artist at Old Donation Center for the Gifted and Talented working with grades 2 -5. I took along samples of my paintings including my 18 foot long 'River Runner' and here the 3rd graders are 'resting along the river' and making drawings that convey their own ideas of peaceful places.

  1. What a great idea-what is the runner painted on or made of?

Sounds like you had fun during your week of art at the school.

    Blessings,
    Leslie

  2. Hi Leslie
    Thanks for the comment.
This is an 18 foot long roll of Fredrick's canvas, pretty thin and not what one would normally choose for a floor cloth, but this little friend has been taking traffic like a champ since 1991 and still looks like it was just painted. I think the marine urethane varnish is the secret...and it makes the surface reflective like water which is such a nice bonus. Kids of all ages love it.
Your holiday watercolors are gentle; like a hug.
Hope that Lady Root is healing well.

  3. Hey, I remember playing along that same river back in '91-92! Like seeing an old friend you haven't seen in years. :D

  4. How funny, you make me smile...and oh you do make me wish that I could jog up 'the face'...now that we have the place....but mystery is good too.
being a raw foodist, bet you know the originator of food pyramid bingo, no?
