Back in August my friend Mary Pat at The Cuyahoga Valley National Park
emailed and said that she had a project for me to consider. In honor of the 100 year anniversary of the National Park system there will be a special tree at the White House to celebrate during this holiday. Even though my work is usually quite large... 6x6 ft being a favorite size...it was fun to create in minature for the tree, for the park, for the environment, to celebrate what is one of the best parts of this country...these 388 preserved and protected expanses of vital and necessary wild places.
Tomorrow I travel to The White House for the reception celebrating the many trees, the holiday and the National Park centennial.
