Following the Moon: The Strength of What Is

Make a Wish, Drozda, Acrylic/wood, 2001, 14x20"

Lines Written In The Days Of Growing Darkness

Every year we have been

witness to it: how the

world descends

into a rich mash, in order that

it may resume.

And therefore

who would cry out

to the petals on the ground

to say,

knowing, as we must,

how the vivacity of what was is married

to the vitality of what will be?

I don’t say

it’s easy, but

what else will do

if the love one claims to have for the world

be true?

So let us go on

though the sun be swinging east,

and the ponds be cold and black,

and the sweets of the year be doomed.

Following the Moon: Something Wonderful is Emerging

http://
Persephone's Dream, Drozda, mixed/canvas, 72x72", 1999

Welcome to ‘Following the Moon’ and the last day of the Strength Moon Gibbous Phase.

The Gibbous phase is where we filter our work thus far in the cycle and create create create to beat the band. Isn’t it energizing to tap into the idea that every cycle we have this segment set aside for generating, constructing, initiating (and even destroying if we chose) the outgrowth of the previous two weeks. The image I’ve included is to remind that even so we are still ‘beneath the surface of things’ dreaming of what will come to meet us as the light advances.

Tomorrow, December 21, is the shortest day of the year and as such marks the turning point of the season. The big news is the Lunar eclipse taking place. There’s a plethora of information available to you about the depth of this year’s event. I trust that you’ll learn what you need to apply to your amazing Art/Life...read more...read about the lunar eclipse and the strength of making a list of your accomplishments...

Fear not the strangeness that you feel

The future must enter you long before it happens.

Just wait for the birth, for the hour of the new clarity.”
